CP Bode Ojajuni Commends Detectives as Ogun Police Smash Trailer-Theft Syndicate, Arrest Five

The Ogun State Police Command has dismantled a suspected trailer-theft and dismantling syndicate with the arrest of five suspects in coordinated operations across Ifo and Ijebu-Ode.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended detectives of the Ifo Division for the intelligence-led operation, describing it as a major breakthrough in the Command’s sustained fight against organized vehicle theft in the state.
The suspects arrested include the fleeing trailer driver, Temitope Omotayo Odulaja, 47, alongside Segun Suleiman, 27; Haruna Olaogun, 49; Jimoh Wasiu, 42; and Quazzim Suleiman, 49.
According to the Police Command, the investigation began on June 6, 2026, after the owner of a trailer reported at the Ifo Divisional Headquarters that his driver had absconded with the vehicle.
Acting on the directive of the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Olabisi Kamorudeen, detectives deployed technical intelligence and tracked Odulaja to Ikorodu, Lagos, where he was arrested on July 24, 2026.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed and provided information that led detectives to Ijebu-Ode the following day, where four additional suspects were arrested at different locations.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the stolen trailer had been dismantled shortly after it was stolen, with the syndicate allegedly selling its parts. Police recovered several components of the vehicle, including the trailer head, which have been documented as exhibits for prosecution.
CP Ojajuni praised the professionalism and dedication of the investigating team, assuring residents that the Command remains committed to intelligence-driven policing and the protection of lives and property.
He disclosed that efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining parts of the stolen trailer, identify other members of the criminal network, and ensure that all those involved are brought to justice.
