Armed Men Attack FMIC City, Prophet G.F. David Leads Protest in Nigeria – What We Know

Armed men have reportedly attacked the Faith Miracle International Church (FMIC) City on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near Gurumahaji Village, at the Ibadan entrance to the tollgate, with the church describing the incident as an apparent assassination attempt against its General Overseer, Senior Prophet G.F. David.
The attack reportedly occurred in the late hours of Sunday, September 20, 2026, and was described by the church as the second physical attack against FMIC.
According to a statement issued by the church, the attackers invaded the FMIC City premises, assaulted and chased away workers, set fire to tents and chairs, destroyed tables and the gate and damaged other church property.
The church alleged that the attackers subsequently repeatedly fired shots at a portrait of Senior Prophet G.F. David, with visible bullet holes reportedly seen across the portrait.
The church said the incident went beyond the destruction of property, describing the shooting at the portrait as an apparent personal warning and direct threat to the life of the General Overseer and a serious danger to everyone at the premises.
It called on the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to urgently investigate the incident, identify those responsible and take measures to protect innocent lives.

Prophet G.F. David Leads Protest

The protest provided an opportunity for the church leadership, members and followers to publicly express their concerns over the reported attacks and demand greater protection and justice.

During the first reported incident, the attackers allegedly burned pepper and released what was suspected to be a chemical irritant into the atmosphere, thereby endangering people present at the premises.
