CP Ojajuni Commends Police Team Over Rescue of Three Babies in Ogun in Nigeria – What We Know

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has commended officers and men of the Mowe Division for their swift response and professionalism that led to the rescue of three children allegedly stolen by a child-theft syndicate in Mowe area of the state.
The police boss gave the commendation following the arrest of a couple, Ugochukwu Mathew and Oluwarankami Kehinde Ugochukwu, accused of operating a child-stealing network in the area.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, CP Ojajuni praised the proactive efforts of the operatives whose intelligence-driven operation resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the safe recovery of the children.
The commissioner reiterated the commitment of the Ogun State Police Command to sustaining the fight against child trafficking, abduction, and other violent crimes across the state.
He assured residents that the command would continue to strengthen surveillance, intelligence gathering, and community policing strategies aimed at protecting lives and property.
CP Ojajuni also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and criminal activities to security agencies, noting that timely information from residents remains crucial in combating crime.
The rescued children were recovered during an operation carried out by detectives attached to the Mowe Division after a complaint by a nursing mother whose four-month-old baby was allegedly stolen at a clinic in Mowe.
Police investigations later led operatives to the suspects’ hideout at Kekere Ekun area, where the stolen baby and two other children were rescued.
The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, for further investigation.
