How Traffickers removed Womb of Teen Trafficked to Ivory Coast in Nigeria

The Delta State Police Command has launched an investigation into an alleged case of human trafficking and organ removal involving a 19-year-old girl from Udu Local Government Area of Delta State who was reportedly trafficked to Ivory Coast under false promises of employment.
The spokesperson of the command, Superintendent of Police Edafe Bright, disclosed the incident in a viral video, describing it as one of the most disturbing cases handled by the police.
According to Bright, the teenager was approached by associates of her father who promised to secure a job for her abroad. However, upon arriving in Ivory Coast, she allegedly discovered that she was being forced into prostitution.
“She refused and demanded to return home, but they claimed they had no money to send her back,” the police spokesperson said.
Bright alleged that the victim was later drugged and taken to a facility presented to her as a hospital, where she lost consciousness after receiving injections.
“When she woke up, she discovered that her stomach had been cut open and bandaged,” he said.
The police said medical examinations later confirmed that the victim’s womb had allegedly been removed.
According to the command, the victim’s health condition deteriorated after the operation, making it impossible for the traffickers to continue exploiting her. She was allegedly abandoned in Lagos before eventually returning home to Delta State, where the matter was reported to the police.
Following investigations, police arrested two female suspects identified as Blessing and Esther.
Bright said one of the suspects allegedly confessed to receiving ₦400,000 for arranging the victim’s travel, while another reportedly admitted collecting ₦115,000.
Condemning the act, the Delta State Police Command warned young people and parents to be cautious of suspicious overseas job offers and trafficking schemes.
The police added that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the alleged trafficking network.
