Glitz , Excitement as Rotarian Momoh Ismail Takes Over as 8th President of Rotary Club of Ibadan Elebu Metropolis

Rotarian Momoh Ismail has formally taken over the mantle of leadership as the 8th President of the Rotary Club of Ibadan Elebu Metropolis, pledging to build on the club’s legacy of service and strengthen its humanitarian impact in the community.
Rotarian Momoh took over from the 7th President, Rotarian Adewale Adesina, during a colourful handing over and taking over ceremony cum Investiture held on Tuesday July 8th, 2026 at the Rotary House Iyaganku with Rotary leaders, dignitaries, royal fathers and members of the public in attendance.
The event attracted the District Governor of Rotary International District 9126, Rotarian Olaniyi Amoo Okin; district officials; past presidents; the Assistant Governor; Rotarians from other clubs; royal fathers; and other invited guests, all of whom gathered to witness the leadership transition and celebrate the club’s commitment to service.
In his acceptance remarks, Momoh Ismail described his emergence as the 8th President of the club as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility. He expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in him and assured them of his determination to lead with dedication, unity and a strong commitment to Rotary ideals.
He said his administration would focus on deepening fellowship among members, expanding the club’s humanitarian projects and sustaining Rotary’s tradition of service to humanity.
Rotarian Momoh also promised to consolidate on the achievements of past administrations, particularly that of the immediate past president, while positioning the Rotary Club of Ibadan Elebu Metropolis for greater relevance and impact within District 9126 and the larger community.
The new president stressed the need for unity, commitment and active participation of members in order to achieve the club’s goals, noting that Rotary remains a platform for selfless service, community development and positive change.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity for members and guests to reflect on the contributions of the outgoing president, Rotarian Adewale Adesina, whose tenure was acknowledged for sustaining the club’s activities and service ideals.
The occasion also witnessed the handing out of awards to deserving Rotarians and members of the public who have distinguished themselves in Rotary service and the community. Immediate Past president, Rotarian Adesina also used the occasion to reel out the various projects and services , including rotary events sponsorships and collaborations, not to mention membership growth the club undertook during his tenure.
Speaking at the event, District Governor Rotarian Olaniyi Amoo Okin congratulated Momoh Ismail on his emergence as president and urged him to remain focused on Rotary’s core values of service, integrity, fellowship and leadership.
Rotarian Okin also commended the Rotary Club of Ibadan Elebu Metropolis for its dedication to humanitarian service and for ensuring a smooth leadership transition that reflects the enduring values of Rotary.
Goodwill messages from district officials, past presidents and visiting Rotarians centred largely on Rotarian Momoh Ismail’s capacity to lead, with many expressing confidence in his vision and ability to move the club forward.
The presence of royal fathers, district leaders, Rotarians from sister clubs and members of the public added glamour to the occasion, which marked a new chapter for the Rotary Club of Ibadan Elebu Metropolis under the leadership of Rotarian Momoh Ismail.
With his formal assumption of office, expectations are high that Rotarian Momoh Ismail will steer the club towards greater service, stronger fellowship and more impactful interventions in the lives of vulnerable people within and beyond Ibadan.
