The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has received the Rotary Club of Ibadan Bodija Estate Distinguished Excellence Award for Outstanding Leadership in Policing and Community Safety.
The award was presented to CP Ojajuni by the Rotary Club of Ibadan Bodija Estate during the investiture ceremony of the club’s 12th President, Rotarian Anya Chukwu, held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Rotary Club House, Oluyole Way, off Favos Bus Stop, New Bodija, Ibadan.
Speaking during the occasion, the club president, Rotarian Anya Chukwu, said the Commissioner of Police deserved the award because of his commitment to humanitarian service through rigorous and effective policing.
Chukwu said Ojajuni had demonstrated exemplary leadership by motivating his men to go all out against crime and criminality, while adopting proactive strategies aimed at protecting lives and property.
He particularly commended the commissioner’s efforts through the rapid-response security initiative, Operation KOSAYE, which he said had contributed significantly to the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes in Ogun and Lagos states.
According to Chukwu, the commissioner’s commitment to public safety goes beyond conventional policing, as he has embarked on several laudable initiatives aimed at improving security and strengthening the relationship between the police and the communities they serve since assuming office as Ogun State Commissioner of Police.
He said the Rotary Club decided to recognise Ojajuni because his commitment to public safety, coupled with his efforts to motivate police personnel to confront criminal elements, reflected the ideals of service, leadership and humanitarian intervention promoted by Rotary.
Chukwu added that effective policing remained an important form of humanitarian service because it protects lives, safeguards communities and creates an environment where citizens can live and conduct their businesses without fear.
The Rotary Club president described Ojajuni’s approach to policing as a combination of professionalism, courage, community safety and humanitarian service, adding that his achievements since assuming office made him a worthy recipient of the Distinguished Excellence Award.
