Ogun Police Commissioner Visits Ijebu-Ode Over Environmental Incident in Nigeria – What We Know

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, on Saturday visited the Agoro/Okunowa Road axis of Ijebu-Ode for an on-the-spot assessment following a recent environmental incident that affected parts of the community.
The police commissioner inspected impacted areas, including Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, alongside senior police officers, emergency response officials, and other stakeholders.
Among those who accompanied him were the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Muritala Bolanle, the Officer in Charge of the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit, and representatives of relevant government agencies.
Following the assessment, CP Ojajuni directed the deployment of additional EOD personnel, tactical teams, surveillance operatives, and members of the School Protection Squad to reinforce security around affected schools and neighbouring communities.
The visit was also attended by Ogun State commissioners responsible for Education, Environment, and Health, as authorities intensified coordinated response efforts to address the situation.
Speaking during a sensitisation meeting with residents, teachers, students, parents, and community leaders, the police commissioner urged members of the public to remain calm and vigilant while complying strictly with emergency response guidelines.
He advised residents to report emergencies through the Ogun State Government Emergency Call Centre and encouraged immediate medical attention for anyone affected.
CP Ojajuni assured residents that the situation was under control, adding that security monitoring and emergency response operations would continue in the affected areas.
