Rotary Club of Ibadan Bodija Estate Inducts Olubadan His Imperial Majesty Oba Senator Dr Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as Honorary Member

The Rotary Club of Ibadan Bodija Estate has inducted the Olubadan of Ibadan His Imperial Majesty Oba (Senator) Dr. Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as an honorary member in recognition of his humanitarian contributions and unwavering support for community development.
The historic induction ceremony took place at the Oke Aremo Palace in Ibadan and drew prominent members of Rotary International District 9126, palace chiefs, distinguished guests, and well-wishers.
Leading the Rotary delegation was the District Governor of Rotary International District 9126, Rotarian FunkeAkpo Ken Batife, alongside other Rotary presidents including , the POP Rotarian Adewale Adesina and members of the International Inner Wheel District 913. Also present at the occasion was the Managing Director of Graphic Packaging International, Oyo State,Mr. Anthony Fitzpatrick and the Human Resource Manager Mr. Bode Sadare.
Members of the Rotary Club of Ibadan Bodija Estate present at the induction included President-Elect Rotarian Anya Chukwu, who represented the Club’ president Rotarian Victor Giwa PHF; Immediate Past President Rotarian Kingsley Achife PHF; Rotarian Olalere Olabiran; the Club’s Secretary, Rotarian Patience Ogbo; and Rotarian Jude Aledare.
The Olubadan reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Non governmental organizations. The Monarch noted that governments alone cannot meet the growing needs of the people, making the role of NGOs essential in societal development.
“No government all over the world can meet the needs of its teeming population alone. Thus, the support of non-governmental organisations like Rotary International is not only required but needed,”.
Kabiyesi also commended Rotary International’s globally recognised Four-Way Test, describing it as an ethical guide capable of positively shaping both personal and professional conduct. He praised the organisation’s humanitarian efforts, particularly in medical outreach programmes, disease eradication campaigns such as polio and guinea worm eradication, and the provision of social amenities including boreholes.

Speaking Earlier, District Governor Rotarian FunkeAkpo Ken Batife expressed appreciation to the Olubadan for the warm reception accorded the delegation.
He explained that the Monarch’s humanitarian interventions, support for the needy, promotion of peaceful dispute resolution, and contributions to social development informed the decision to honour him with honorary membership.
As part of the induction, Monarch was presented with a Rotary Honorary membership certificate, a Rotary pin, and a copy of the Rotary Four-Way Test.
